I am not the kind of person who sits on my couch idly, watching my life passing meaningless, without having a vision. I want to live each moment intensely, set goals and try to conquer them. I believe that nothing is given in life without prior effort. We have to strive daily and create the conditions which will bring the desirable results on our own. Throughout my involvement with climbing, I have learned that difficulties and hitches are here only to make us stronger and more experienced.
I was looking for a platform which could give power to my voice, which could make me be heard by thousands of people around the world, to tell them that nothing is impossible and that we Greeks, even today, during crises, are capable to achieve our dreams. It seems absurd that so far no Greek woman has climbed Mt.Everest. I know…I am just a girl, with no previous climbing experience nor well-off. But I also know that I have a big dream. I want to be happy! And I will be happy only when I will achieve everything I am dreaming of.
I thought of exploiting my madness and passion about mountain climbing. To achieve something big which would even scares me. So climbing Mt Everest came up into my mind. To be honest, initially, there were nights I couldn’t sleep while visualizing me climbing over 8.500m. Why? It was terrifying. But my fear neither stopped nor nailed me. Contrariwise it made me want to become stronger. Moreover, pure happiness is usually achieved only after suffering through some great hardships! So, I am here, stronger than ever, training hard, every day, focused in my goal.
If I can climb Mt.Everest then anyone can achieve anything. And I will climb Everest for sure!
I'm willing to risk my life and physical integrity for accomplishing something never done before. And now I want to invite you not only to share my dream, but to become part of it and play an active role in fulfilling this elusive dream.
